JPFO's "States Corner" - read first- updated 1/26/12!
« on: March 11, 2011, 11:10:43 PM »
Welcome to JPFO's corner of the GunLink Forum.  The owner of the forum and main web site has very kindly offered us some space and the purpose now ascribed to this is simply a place for JPFO members to come when looking for other members in their state (or province if international) and area.  It is not intended to be an in depth discussion forum so it must be kept to just announcements of location and relevant data for most part. Inappropriate posts can be moderated and possibly deleted, or at worst, a poster blocked.

Here is what you do - go to your own state sub forum and make a post giving as much or little information as you wish, but probably most important at least your approximate location within your state and perhaps interests and local organization affiliations etc.  Do not post your email so as to avoid getting spammed but, make contact with other members as needed via private messaging.  From there contact can be setup through an exchange of emails if wished.

This is somewhat of an experiment but having had requests over time from members for "Are there any JPFO members in my state?", it seems this could prove useful for those in particular and thus enable members being able to meet up.  Please be sure you have read the forum rules when first registering.

NOTE - scroll down to read some extra info re posting method etc.

A small addition - - when you set up your profile settings, make sure you are able to be notified by email of any responses and, check in when you can to see if others have posted.  The build will be slow probably but by keeping in touch we hope that a small nucleus will build over time.  Thanks to all who so far have posted.

Good to see some more folks dropping by.  There have been a few queries regarding how to post etc.

OK - we'll assume you have found the main page here - http://gunlink.info/forums/index.php?board=23.0 - scroll down to find your state and click on it to enter.

When you get in there you'll see an intro post I made ages ago, and under that any posts from other folks.  If you want to read any of those - click on one and, if after reading decide to reply ... look up to the right under the search box and hit "Reply" in the line of tabs - then type your text and submit.

To make a new post with your own info - again look upper right under search box and hit "New Topic" in the line of tabs - write your text and submit.

To all - be sure to have set up your option for email notifications, so you can keep track of any thread replies sent to you, or PM's. Build up of posters may still be only gradual but - the more we get the more likely it'll be that it becomes useful.  Could even be that someone wanting to visit another state can check on that to see if anyone may be in the area they are visiting.
