Nope. No need to shed any tears over Hostess going away, at least from a prepping stand point and stocking up on them is unnecessary unless you want to chow down on food that has long since gone bad. Even though lots of people think that twinkies have a very long shelf life measured in years or decades or longer their real shelf life is less than one month according to snopes:

Twinkies have a shelf life of twenty-five days, not seven years, and certainly not fifty years. Even so, twenty-five days is an unusually long time for a baked product to stay fresh. The secret to Twinkies' longevity is their lack of dairy ingredients: because dairy products are not part of the formula, Twinkies spoil much more slowly than other bakery items.
The lack of milk which most people would expect to be in cakes like those, probably also explains the rumors about how twinkies aren't "real food" although arguments otherwise are probably still debatable :P
I thought I would share that here

Also we as Americans are Fat and that is why they are now back on the shelf

We heard that the new version will have a longer shelf life. No word on whether they will still be terrible for you and leave your mouth feeling waxy. :P

I prefer zingers to twinkies any day.
