Apache Engaging Talil

These pilots take great care to leave the horses, goats, and the women and children -safe- in their tents.  The night vision takes a while to get used to.  But the way they can use laser beams is fantastic .... unlike 40 years ago when we dropped magnesium flares to illuminate an enemy's action!  The old days --- you can have 'em!!

Outstanding!  Certainly a lousy day to be a bad guy.

As far as 30mm goes I prefer a GAU-8 over an M230, but an Apache is nothing to sneeze at.  Besides, I'm a little biased since my favorite aircraft - EVER - is probably the A-10.  Even better than the spooky (as badass as it is)

I was at a business conference thing one time and was chatting up the guy next to me.  He re-confirmed the old way of how to tell if there's a pilot (particularly an Apache pilot) in the room (he'll tell you).  He was a pretty young guy, probably around my age and he was still pretty excited about getting to fly one of those things.  I don't suppose it's the type of thing that would get old ;D
