Title: 2 Employees Steal 45 Firearms From Shipping Crates
Post by: LivingDeadGirl on March 29, 2017, 12:36:27 PM
Just to further add to the story of how criminals illegally obtain firearms despite background checks, two employees at a shipping facility in Chattanooga, TN stole 45 firearms from crates shipped by Smith & Wesson. Five crates arrived in Chattanooga, 3 stayed in TN and at least one went to Georgia. The theft was noticed when the facility in Georgia realized that they received an empty crate.

A search of one employee's home revealed 10 of the firearms among other items stolen from the facility. 35 of the firearms are still missing. The employee in question has a felony conviction in Florida, therefore, he cannot legally purchase a firearm. He is being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon in addition to theft.  It is unclear, based on the article below, how the second man participated.
