Apparently, the Inspector General of Police in Nigeria, Solomon Arase had announced recently that the state police force will be replacing all firearms with stun guns as way to reduce accidental death caused by the misuse of firearms by police.

Lawmakers came back and said no. One House of Representative member stated:

“Many of the extra-judicial killings involving the police have had to do with the demand for bribes and the victim’s refusal. Besides, many of the police personnel involved in those incidents allegedly acted under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, which largely impaired their sense of judgment." - Ayodele Oladimeji

So, corrupt police are shooting unarmed citizens that won't give in to their demands? At least 70% of the country's population is black. Where's the Black Lives Matter call to end police violence here?
