My favorite muzzle flash!

Bit of indulgence here but - check out this pic.  I was using my Taurus Raging Bull in .454 some long time ago - and strangely enough shooting some very weak 240 grain Win loads (nowhere near as potent as the Hornady 300 grain loads I prefer and reload for).

Turned out these half power loads (half muzzle energy) made great muzzle flash.  At twilight my son had my camera set up on an adjacent bench and we took some shots - this one just happened to turn out great.  The Bull belches fire!!

Note the flame from cylinder gap and also the porting area up front.

Nice!  I don't ever have much luck capturing muzzle blast.

I doubt very much I could ever repeat that good a result!

I usually can't catch them either, at least not with a still camera.  Here are a couple that I pulled out of some video of some of my buddies shooting from years ago.  They're not nearly as good as OP's though

Actually pretty darned good despite the resolution probs from a vid frame. 

The benefit of course is being able find just the right frame.  A Google images search brings up quite a lot but majority are not quite perfect.  The Mosin M44 and M38 are pretty good at flame usually!
