Title: Vegas casinos reopening after COVID shutdown. Now with temp checks and... WTMD
Post by: TheHarleyB on June 05, 2020, 11:58:03 AM
Las Vegas Review Journal published an article about casinos reopening after a 78-day shutdown due to the coronavirus. The article says that they're now scanning temperatures before letting people in.

The video in the article shows them scanning visitor's wrists to check their temperature after they go through a security checkpoint that includes walk-through metal detectors. What do you want to bet that those will be there to stay and that it's the end of hotel and casino guests being able to lawfully CCW there?

I guess it's a moot point for SHOT show since it's cancelled for january, but I was at a casino (caesars property, not in LV) that had what looked like the same machines at the ID check station to go from the hotel to the casino floor. As soon as I got in sight of the machine, the lady running it said I had to stop to get my temperature checked and I had an oh-crap moment. She had me stop a couple yards from the machine, told me my temp was perfect, and had me walk through the machine and onto the floor. No disco balls or strobe lights or bells or confetti-from-the-ceiling or anything else went off and I strolled on in and made a little money.

Not sure if it's the same way at all of their properties or any of them in LV, but it seems like either not all of the features are enabled or they're not checking or they just don't care at this one.
