2019 SHOT SHOW
Januay 22-25, 2019
Sands Expo & Convention Center
Las Vegas, NV

The firearms industry has now enjoyed two years without the Gun Control axe hanging as closely over their heads as it had for nearly the previous decade.

With the reigns taken off of gun companies' R&D departments, firearms enthusiasts around the world are now looking forward to the new guns and gear that are sure to be unveiled at the 2019 Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show). At the largest event of its kind in the industry, manufacturers typically display their new wares for the upcoming year for the shooting, outdoor, law enforcement, miliatry, and hunting markets.

The wait is almost over and SHOT Show 2019 will be here before we know it. As we have for nearly a decade, the GunLink team will be at the Big Show to see it all; from the annual pre-show SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range to the closing of the exhibit hall, we'll be bringing you all the news about this year's innovations in the world of firearms, ammo, and gear.  We'll be showing you everything from the slickest firearms and the most devastating ammo to the ruggedest gear and the clearest optics.

We will have a bunch of our team out there again, but I think only a few of us will actually be going to SHOT Show. There are a few events that we'll be going to.

Let us know what everyone is doing, maybe we'll meet up at a get together somewhere.

Where is everyone staying? I've only been to Vegas a few times. Suggestions for things to do in the off hours from the show?

$915? The Black Aces one is $449 ($574 for the hardwood model) and not from a Freedom Group company that recently declared bankruptcy. They say they're close to shipping them now. SHOT Show site says they will be there in booth 759.

Street price will be much lower. Got a gunbuyer.com email yesterday and they have them listed for $729 already.  https://www.gunbuyer.com/remington-v3-tac-13-12-gauge-13-barrel-5-shot-black-83392.html

Re: SHOT Show 2019 :: New Glock Single Stack 9mms G43X and G48
« Reply #6 on: January 03, 2019, 01:31:24 PM »
The official announcement for the new Glocks that everyone has been talking about is now out -> http://blog.gunlink.info/2019/01/02/glock-introduces-two-new-slimline-models/

The G43X is a G43’s 3.4″ barrel and 6″ slide atop a .75″ longer grip. This longer grip gives it a magazine capacity bump of four rounds from six to 10. This is essentially the G43 crossed ("X") with the companies latest offering: The G48, which has a nearly identical footprint as the G19 but shaves off a tremendous 0.16″ at a loss of 5 rounds, matching the 43X’s 10 round capacity.

The GLOCK 43X and the GLOCK 48 feature the design of the Slimline series with a silver slide and are a perfect fit for everyday carry. Chambered in 9x19mm, both pistols feature a compact Slimline frame with silver nPVD finish.

“With the success of the Slimline series in the marketplace and over one million GLOCK 43 pistols sold in just three years, the Slimline series pistols have been tested, trusted and proven,” said Glock Vice President Josh Dorsey. “We listened to the consumers request for a GLOCK Slimline model with increased round capacity and both of these pistols deliver that flawlessly. GLOCK’s continued pursuit of perfection drives innovation while not straying from our promise of reliability and durability and that is demonstrated in the G43X and G48.”

Designed for comfort, the G43X and G48 combine a longer grip length with a minimal width around 1” for what the company describes as “a comfortably balanced, versatile grip that’s ideal for a variety of users.” While the two pistols share the same size frame, they have different slide lengths.  ... read more...

Perfect! A marginally narrower version of the exact same size pistol but now with 1/3 fewer rounds!

4 bonus rounds for the 43 is nice, but don't they make 10 round mags with a sleeve? Why eliminate the possibility of having a very small footprint gun?

Don't get me wrong, I like Glock and carry one almost all the time, but they are always so woefully behind the curve.

I’m actually excited for these. The G19 is just a tad bit too big for me. I have to readjust my grip after every couple of shot as it is, more so if it’s hot outside and I’m sweaty.  The G43 actually fit in my hands and I had no issues in handling it.

FN is adding a new Tactical and Midsize model to the 509 series

And you can add another one to the list above now...

Mossberg is wading into the Concealed Carry Pistol market with their new sub-compact MC1sc 9mm to mark their 100th anniversary

Caliber   9mm
Capacity   6-Round Flush-Fit / 7-Round Extended
Barrel Length   3.40"
Trigger Pull   5-6 lbs.
Weight   19 oz (Unloaded), 22 oz (Loaded)
Length   6.25"
Height   4.30"
Width   1.03"

We will be sure to give these a try at the range if they are there (fingers crossed). I am pretty curious to see what Mossberg's idea of a compact 9mm is like.

Re: SHOT Show 2019 :: Room Security Checks
« Reply #12 on: January 10, 2019, 02:45:21 PM »
FYI for anyone going to Vegas for SHOT Show. Most casinos are now doing room security checks at least every 24 hours. Regardless of whether you opted in or out of housekeeping service, whether you have the do not disturb sign up, whether you are in the room or out of it, whether you are naked/dressed/in bed/in the shower, or anything else... they ARE going to come right on in.  Best of luck not having some "security" creep come in while you're in the middle of something private!

They used to offer a $10/DAY credit for declining housekeeping but have since changed it to to $10/STAY.

Here is a trip advisor thread about it https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g45963-i10-k12025489-CET_Security_Check_Procedures-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html

and a LV Sun article https://lasvegassun.com/news/2018/feb/16/caesars-to-check-do-not-disturb-rooms-daily/

Seems like a law suit waiting to happen.  A male guard walking into the bathroom of a female guest while she’s showering?
