With my massive mitts, the small grip frame of the KelTec P11 does not provide a lot of area for me to hold pistol. KT offers an
OEM grip extension that helps with this.
Note that this grip extension merely provides a place to rest your pinky finger and does not add additional capacity to the magazines. Installation is simple, involving only removing the existing magazine floor plate by pressing in the detent, sliding it off and replacing it with the new part.
The grip extension makes gripping and shooting the small-framed P11 much easier (especially for shooters with larger hands), making it more likely to find its way into your range trip rotation.
The only drawback we found with the extension was that the added grip length made the pistol print slightly more and the sharp protrusion dug into our office furniture, leaving a series of half-moon shaped indentations. If carried in this configuration, it isn't difficult to see how it could end up wearing holes in clothing or furniture.
So, although the extension makes the P11 more range-friendly, it might now work particularly well for some carry situations.
If you are looking for a place to put your little finger in addition to adding extra round capacity, KelTec also offers grip extension sleeves that allow for the use of
12 round and
15 round S&W 59 magazines.
