I thought it was already back.
There has been plenty going around at gun shows. There has been pallets of centerfire ammo at all of the machine gun shoots and I don't think there were any limits. Walmart shelves around here have been full of centerfire pistol and rifle ammo and shotgun shells for a while now with no posted limit on how many you can buy. It's not 2007 or 2011 prices, but then again it's not 2007 or 2011 anymore either.
Brownell's said that we would see rimefire shortages for 2 more years and I heard a rumor that manufacturers had enough .22LR orders to eat up years and years of production. I haven't seen it in walmart for years, but the lady that works there and recognizes me because I always go in to check says that they get a few boxes of it fairly regularly. Not like they used to though.
On the other hand, the LGS almost always has pallets of .22. It's not what I'd like to pay for it, but it's within that range and it's available. I got this last weekend. They had plenty of it there and nobody was clamoring over it. This is the per person/per day limit. If it was closer I might be tempted to stop in and get a few more of these to get back up to a comfortable level where I can really start burning through it like I used to instead of just plinking from time to time.
