Women's Defensive Handgun Training
« on: November 23, 2012, 09:00:21 AM »
Each month, the Keeping the Piece Women's Shooting Club meets from 10:30am until noon at Smokin' Guns in Paris.  We focus on a different defensive shooting skill each month and do organized drills.  I rent the entire range, so there are no guys allowed in the range during our time.  It's a great time to ask questions, learn new drills you can use in your own shooting practice, make friends, find a shooting partner, and acquire necessary life-saving skills with your handgun.

All women are welcome, but must be qualified for membership through private instruction.  This is a safety issue since we do some advanced drills and have a number of women working from a holster in a small space.  Private lessons must be scheduled prior to the club meeting you'd like to attend.  Once you're qualified, you may attend each time we meet without further private instruction.

Monthly cost for membership to the Shooting club is currently $15.  That price will go up to $20/month starting January 2013.  This fee helps cover the cost of targets and range rental fees.

You will need a handgun, holster, extra magazines or speedloaders, and 50 rounds of ammo for each meeting.  It is best for you to holster your gun however you would carry it in reality...so if you carry in a purse, bring it.  If you carry in a Belly Band, wear that.

To schedule a time to qualify, please call Colleene at 859-707-5527.
