Changes in NSSF SHOT Show Since Dropping Reed Exhibitions

A lot of folks were expecting that perhaps NRA would step in as they did for the Harrisburg, PA outdoor show.  Not so.  Details below, see the blog entries for full stories.

You probably remember the blowup causing vendors to leave en mass from the Harrisburg, PA, Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show and the subsequent change in management to NRA managing the new Harrisburg show.  You probably also remember the outcry over the continued management by Reed of the NSSF SHOT Show.  The big news of the day is that NSSF has now terminated their agreement and the SHOT Show will be under new management going forward.

We've worked with Freeman at a number of trade shows and, as far as we can tell, they're about as good as any show services provider.  Certainly better than some others we've dealt with.

Kudos to NSSF and the SHOT Show brass.  Makes us proud to be NSSF media members.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, has awarded Freeman a five-year contract to serve as the official exposition services contractor for the SHOT Show, beginning with the 2014 show.

“In this period of transition, our goal is to maintain continuity for our customers to help make their SHOT Show experience the best it can possibly be. Our new agreement with Freeman provides that continuity and continues to deliver best-in-class services to our exhibitors,” said Chris Dolnack, NSSF senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
