National Preparedness Month
« on: September 12, 2014, 03:24:00 PM »

Thanks to a proclamation by the #1 Firearms Salesman-in-Chief, September is National Preparedness Month.

Although one should make disaster preparedness a part of their lives year-round, National Preparedness Month is a great reminder to check your supplies, go over your family's plans, practice your communication methods, confirm your meeting locations and generally "dust off" your preparedness toolbox.

National Preparedness Month is also a great way to start a conversation about readiness with your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers without appearing like a TEOTWAWKI, zombie apocalypse nut job.  The water-cooler conversation that starts with "Hey, Bob... Did you know that FEMA is doing a PrepareAthon for National Preparedness Month this month" probably won't get you the same type of office reputation as "I'm cleaning all of my guns and storing months of food and precious metals for the coming collapse and ensuing chaos, what about you?"
