HB 1381/SB 783 - Specifies that an additional penalty for refusal to submit to a breath, blood, or urine test and requires the surrender of all firearms and ammunition within possession. Requires firearms permit application forms to be accompanied by an affirmation that neither the applicant nor any family or household member is or has been diagnosed with or treated for certain mental disorders and that if the applicant or family or household member is subsequently diagnosed, the applicant shall lock and secure or surrender all firearms and ammunition within 48 hours. Requires payment of a fine of $50 per day of noncompliance with the requirement to lock and secure, or surrender, firearms and ammunition within 48 hours. Specifies failure to pay child or spousal support as a good cause for revocation of a firearm permit or license.  SB 95/SB 1184 - Authorizes the chief of police from each respective county to issue licenses to carry a concealed firearm. Specifies processes for license applications, renewals, revocations, and record keeping. Strictly prohibits carrying concealed firearms under certain circumstances. SB 462/HB 402 -    Requires individuals denied a firearm permit or otherwise disqualified from possessing firearms and certain defendants to provide a sworn statement that the individual has disposed of any firearms and ammunition in the individual's possession. Requires the applicable chief of police to search firearm permit and registration records for those individuals and before serving a protective order or restraining order involving firearms or ammunition, and to seize any firearms or ammunition that were not disposed of. SB 197 - Prohibits police department officers and employees, department of public safety employees, department of land and natural resources employees, and department of transportation employees who are authorized to carry firearms from consuming alcohol or ingesting prescription medications that would impair the judgment or physical response of the employee while carrying a firearm; provided that employees who are taking part in an official criminal surveillance or undercover operation shall be exempt from this requirement. Here's some of the new legislation being proposed this session:

HB1589 - allows for licensed hunters to possess and use suppressors while hunting

HB1583 - establishes protocols for LEOs and family members to obtain court orders to prevent a person from accessing firearms

HB1345/SB280 - prohibits a person listed in the federal terrorist screening database from owning, possessing or using a firearm

HB1205 - prevents frivolous claims against shooting range operators and individuals target shooting

SB876 - allows that owners of previously registered firearms within the state shall not be subject to the existing permit waiting period when seeking another

HB802 - requires FFLs to report to police any unlawful attempt to purchase a firearm

HB410 - requires county police chief to grant a qualified applicant a CCDW

SB212 - authorizes the chief of police in each county to issues CCDW and more

SB9 - would require firearm owners to obtain firearms insurance

HB36 - changes some cirteria for CCDW permits
