Currently, these are some of the bills in the Alabama State Legislature:
HB13 would make it a crime to make a straw purchase.
SB24, HB414 would repeal certain restrictions on the carrying or possession of a firearm on certain properties or in a motor vehicle by anyone who can legally possess a firearm.
SB2 would make all taxes on firearms, ammunition and accessories a state tax and prohibits local municipalities and counties from imposing a user fee or another fee or tax on such items.
HB410 would allow people to carry in government buildings and churches under certain conditions, and allow school boards to permit firearms on school property, would permit school employees to have firearms in their cars, allow concealed carry with permit on college campuses, and make businesses that prohibit carrying of firearms be liable for certain damages.
HB416, SB330 gives sheriffs 30 days to approve or renew a concealed carry permit application unless they person is prohibited from having a firearm.
