I've owned 2 sightrons but not that model. They're fine scopes for the money and hold up good on 308 and 7mm. Nice and clear. Mine had regular duplex reticle but I shot with one that had MOA reticle, it's nice but hard to see in low light.

Thanks for the info much appreciated. I think for the money it's worth a shot for how much scope you get. Will try do a review on it & the Winchester XPR 270 wsm. Once I have it all set up.

Please do. I'd like to hear how it works out. My SIII scopes were good but I only have the one any more.  What are they on sale for? It's been a while since I bought the one and the other came on a used rifle that I bought.

They are 47% of so $360 optics planet Im hoping they are decent but for that money won't take whole lot be worth it if this one works out definitely going look in to the Slll for my 300 RUM build I'm working on. May also replace my vortex on 300 mag with one.

Are they worth that? Even at that 47% off it would be at the top end of my current glass budget and they're not a name I hear a lot about. I've never shot with a Sightron but I've looked through them at the store. Why are you looking to replace the Vortex? I've had good luck with some of their scopes and was thinking about getting one for my .308 so I can move the Nikon from it back to the AR it was on. I don't think I need a lot of scope, it would just be for .308 out to 200-250yds, maybe 300 max, mainly just for shooting for fun.

Never used one but a local well respected gun builder puts the Slll on all of his guns from what everyone tells me they love them much more clear then vortex at high power. Which is the problem I have with vortex I've shot with Burris, Leupold, Nikon, Zeiss & nightforce all much clearer on high power then vortex imo. Figured if those are good enough for $4000 1500 yard guns the S tac would work for my 1000 yd 270 wsm well hope to get to 1200 yds with some work.

What vortex can you get for $360 price tag I'd be interested in that all of them I can find are $600 plus

Yeah, you won't find a Vortex for that kind of shooting in that range, but I don't do any kind of "serious" shooting like that. I've used their red-dots and cheaper ones like Strike Eagle and Crossfire, and they're more than fine for a few hundred yards. You can spend plenty on ones like the Viper and Golden Eagle. I've looked through them, but not at anything far away under high mag - they're a bit out of my league.

Did you get a chance to try out the Sightron scope? We're getting ready to start stocking up on scopes for deer season and like to hear what is working well for people.
