Surviving an active shooter
« on: February 01, 2015, 12:06:26 PM »

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has created this video to help people answer the question "What would you do?" in the event of a sudden attack by a gunman while at work, at school, or in public.

Thanks for the video. I liked the blog post from a couple years ago better. http://blog.gunlink.info/2012/10/08/preparing-to-survive-an-active-shooter-incident/  It was more to the point and only had one scenario playing out, rather than three.

Both videos have pretty much the same information.  The video above provided more information in the actual video (rather than just a sentence like in Run, Hide, Fight) about how to interact with emergency responders during an active shooter. Now I have a couple of questions: For the emergency kit, do the cards really save time, are they standardized, where do you get them?  Also,  it states at the very beginning that mass shootings are on the rise and becoming more common. It also states that there's an average of 20 shootings per year in the US. Anyone know the source of this information? I'm under the impression that shootings are actually down and I don't recall ever seeing 20 shootings covered in the media in a year.
