A FSU student, Rebekah Hargrove, is suing FSU, stating that the University's policy that prohibits CCDW license holders from keeping a firearm locked in their car while on campus. State law says that firearms are permitted to be kept in vehicles, while the University threatens to arrest those who have firearms in their car.

While a bill that would allow legal possession of firearms on college campuses has been reviewed twice in as many years, the FSU President, a former state senator, opposes the idea of any firearm on campus.
