Did you see that the PC Police pulled the Olympic shooting event emoji from Twitter hashtags (http://blog.gunlink.info/2016/08/03/from-my-cold-dead-iphone/) and left it for all of the others?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/favelas-police-violence_us_57a3b7c0e4b03ba68011dc88?section=&

came across this today - the murder rate in Rio has been spikin, including the number of people killed by police:

Quote
...climbed 7.5 percent to 1,518 murders in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2015.  As worrying, the number of people killed by police has jumped 12 percent in that same time frame. They spiked 62 percent in May and June with 127 people killed by officers - mostly young, black and poor men.

The pacification program was meant to disarm the drug traffickers, and hopefully stop drug trafficking, but that appears to have not worked at all. And the heart of the operations are dead-in-the-middle between the two Olympic zones.

Ginny Thrasher has become the first American to win a gold medal. This morning she qualified and competed in the main event back to back in 10m air rifle.

Way to go Ginny Thrasher!!!

Kim Rhode won the bronze in skeet. That makes her the first American, first woman, and second person ever to win a medal in 6 consecutive Olympics.

Good Job Kim!!!
