Apps for shooters

(1/1)

TheHarleyB:
I thought I'd share some smartphone and tablet apps that I've found helpful with shooting. If you use other ones, post them up!

First is the MantisX app. This is probably the shooting app I use most. You have to have the MantisX attachment, but it's great for practice with live fire or dry fire (especially since ammo prices are stupid). It's like the pistol correction targets but it gives you a ton more data. https://mantisx.com/pages/app

Kind of similar to that is the iTarget app from iMarksman. It's kind of similar in that it's supposed to track shots from laser ammo, but I haven't used it in a while since it stopped working for me. If you can get it to work, it's pretty neat. Good luck, recent reviews on it are mixed. https://www.itargetpro.com/blogs/get-our-app/get-our-app

My next most used app is probably any kind of shot timer app. It probably doesn't really matter which one since they all seem to be about the same. I kind of remember Surefire having one that worked better than others, but I think it's gone now. They're all ok at picking up shots for most regular drills unless you're very fast, but I don't think I've ever seen a phone app that could accurately pick up full auto or binary shots.  If you have one you recommend, let me know.

The next one's a bit more niche. I used to go to Texas from time to time and they have Penal Code 30.06 and 30.07 signs that make it a class C misdemeanor to carry on posted property. The Texas 30.06 app has a list and interactive map of posted places so you know where to avoid if you don't want to break the law or be disarmed.  https://www.texas3006.com/mobileapps.php
