Auto Ordnance Commemorative 1911
« on: March 12, 2011, 10:03:38 PM »
Made by Auto Ordnance this gun celebrates the 1st Cavalry. While owned it had never been fired and hopefully remains that way. Most guns are shooters of course but this example was very much one for the wall display case.

It was bought and retained for two or three years and then sold back to the original owner - the funds raised going into another gun (of course!).

Nice 1911.  I have an auto-ordnance 1911 as my home protection gun, but am considering carrying it as my CCW.  Any suggestions about a good IWB holster?

Can't personally recommend an IWB as I am totally IWB.  I have tho lent to a buddy a beautiful 1911 OWB rig I have had for ages - made by Horseshoe Leather.  They are in UK but can be found on the web with a search.

It fits so well that it's hard to see an IWB really gaining much, plus the need for larger pant waist etc.  I expect a bit of digging on Don Hume, Galco, Biancchi etc would come up with some good options.  You may also if you don't mind plastic, find a Kydex to siut from Fobus.
