Title: No more DPMS Bushmaster or Tapco
Post by: 1slickAR15 on February 14, 2020, 10:50:54 AM
A couple of the big AR15 makers in the Remington family are apparently shut down now. They're not listed under Remington brands any more and their official sites just redirect to a contact page on the Remington site.

http://www.dpmsinc.com/ goes to https://www.remingtonoutdoorcompany.com/dpms-firearms

https://www.bushmaster.com/ goes to https://www.remingtonoutdoorcompany.com/bushmaster-firearms

https://www.tapco.com goes to https://www.remingtonoutdoorcompany.com/tapco

That sucks. They were good companies and DPMS was about the only place to get a AR10 for cheap. I saw a couple weeks ago that something new was happening with the lawsuit against them from the Sandy Hook shooting. I wonder if that is related?

Olympic Arms folded in 2017 too.  IIRC, Colt no longer makes ARs for civilian market either.

The market is good and saturated with AR makers. It's not a shock that lots of them are going under, but is kind of surprising to see the big names going away. It'll even out with Daniel Defense, LMT, LaRue, POF, LWD at the top of the market and Smith & Wesson, Diamondback, ATI, Palmetto State picking up the mid to lower range markets. I don't know how well they're selling, but I wouldn't be surprised if Springfield takes the SAINT and gets out too.

ETA: and that's still quite a few!
