A situation involving school buses has prompted Los Angeles Unified School District police to close all campuses Tuesday, CBS Los Angeles reported.

An email sent to North Hollywood High School parents called it a bomb threat and said students and staff should remain at home until the situation is resolved, the station reported.

An official with the LAPD said the FBI has been notified and the threat is still being analyzed.

The threat is currently being handled by the Los Angeles School Police Department.

They must have looked at the calendar wrong. Break doesn't start until next Tuesday.  They cancelled the wrong day.

The radio is calling it an "electronic threat"

NY apparently got the same threat and determined it to be a hoax and  went with business as usual. I guess LA kind of got a black eye for not figuring it out. Oops.  Prepare to see a rash of tehse now that the hoaxers have figured out they have this kind of power.

That's because being a former NYC DOE Sp. Ed. Teacher & Asst. Dean I can state for a fact that they are some cheap Folks!!!!
They push to fill out a 186-7 day a yr calendar but when there is a threat or bad weather day they make kids and teachers come in anyway. My last 7 yrs on the job I lived in central Long Island, an hr from Penn sta. Which meant( working at a school in lower Manhattan) that I was dependent on the LIRR which was notoriously slow even in the best of times( I called it the LISR for Long Island snail road!)
