ReadyShot Laser Training System
« on: August 22, 2014, 01:04:08 PM »
We reviewed the ReadyShot laser training system at http://blog.gunlink.info/2014/07/30/readyshot-lets-you-train-at-home-with-your-own-carry-gun/

It is an interesting system that consists of the target (with multiple shooting modes), the laser insert for your pistol, and optional free computer software that adds even more modes.  The ReadyShot components also work with laser training components from other systems (e.g. use your existing laser with the ReadyShot target, use the ReadyShot laser with your existing laser target).

We like the idea of laser training systems because they let you practice with your own firearm almost whenever and wherever you want without range fees or using up a bunch of ammunition.  However, many systems don't provide a mechanism for practical training.  The ReadyShot system lets you train in multiple modes that are help you train with your firearm in a practical manner.

Modes include competing with another shooter to see who can shoot the target the fastest or to play tic-tac-toe.  Another mode practices the skill of drawing your pistol and "firing" on the target while timing and tracking your split times.  Other modes promote even more practical pistol skills.  There are several shooting "games" included that promote shooting with both eyes open by firing at a randomly selected square on the target grid.

Another practical mode allows the user to place the target somewhere in their house.  After a random time delay, the target will play the sound of breaking glass and your goal is to locate and shoot the target as quickly as possible.  This is a fantastic way to practice maneuvering through your own house, learning angles and honing your in-home tactics in a way that somewhat realistically simulates a home break-in scenario.
