IL Alert SB681 from IllinoisCarry email alert message
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:03:15 AM »
URGENT!

Make the call!

  Urge your State Senator  to
OVERRIDE Quinn's veto of SB681.

The General Assembly will reconvene for the fall veto session this Tuesday, Nov. 27th.  It is urgent that you call your IL State Senator on Monday, Nov. 26th and urge him/her to OVERRIDE Quinn's veto of SB681.

SB681 was meant to be a bill allowing in-state mail order sales of ammunition. It passed both the Illinois Senate and House and went to the governor's desk for his signature.  Instead, he vetoed the bill and turned it into a gun ban which would ban many of our commonly owned firearms.

Call your State Senator and urge him/her to
OVERRIDE Quinn's veto of SB681.

To find out who your IL State Senator is, go to the
Illinois State Board of Elections

Or call  217-782-2000

The Illinois Senate just voted to override the Governor's veto of SB-681by a vote of 49/4/0 This means SB-681 passed in it's origional form.

ISRA Executive Director Richard Pearson:

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

On Wednesday, Nov. 28th, 2012,  the Illinois Senate passed SB681 in its original form at a margin of 49 – 4.  The bill, SB681, was a simple bill that allowed ammunition to be mail ordered from dealers or companies in Illinois and shipped to FOID card holders in Illinois.  FOID card holders could already order ammunition from out of state sources.

The Governor illegally used his amendatory veto power and substituted language to turn SB681 into an all encompassing ‘assault’ weapons ban.  The Illinois Senate reaffirmed the original language and intent of SB681.

Next week, SB681 will have to be voted on in the Illinois House of Representatives.  Be sure to call your state representative and ask them to vote for the override of the Governor’s Veto of SB681.  To reach your representative, please click here for the Illinois State Board of Elections website to learn who your legislators are!

There are several links to this week’s Thursday bulletin, but one of them is the announcement of this year’s IGOLD event.  Please print it or email it to your friends.  We need to make this year’s IGOLD event the biggest and best ever.

SB681 ALERT from ISRA SB moves to IL House
« Reply #3 on: December 02, 2012, 06:55:37 PM »
SB 681 URGENT ALERT – YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED

SCHEME TO BAN AND CONFISCATE MOST OF YOUR GUNS WILL BE UP FOR A VOTE IN THE ILLINOIS HOUSE THIS WEEK!

As many of you know, Governor Quinn gutted a pro-gun bill, SB-681, and turned it into an “Assault Weapon Ban.”

This is very bad news for Patriots and lovers of liberty.

The Illinois Senate has already voted to overturn Quinn’s meddling with this bill.  Now the bill moves on to the Illinois House, which is controlled by the Chicago Gun Grabbing Machine.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO THE FOLLOWING TO HELP SAVE YOUR GUN RIGHTS:

1.  Beginning Monday, December 3rd, call your state representative and politely tell him or her that you are a law-abiding Illinois gun owner and you do not support the Governor’s plan to ban and confiscate your lawfully purchased firearms.  Advise your representative to VOTE TO OVERRIDE THE GOVERNOR’S VETO OF SB-681.  The phones will be busy, continue calling until you get through to someone.  Do the same on Tuesday December 4th.

2.  Pass this alert along to all your gun owning friends and family members.  Tell them to make calls as well.

3.  Post this alert to any and all Internet Blogs or Bulletin Boards to which you may belong.

4.  If you do not know who your state representative is, please go to the Illinois State Board of Elections website http://www.elections.il.gov/districtlocator/districtofficialsearchbyaddress.aspx to look up this information.

Remember, gun control is a disease and you are the cure!

Illinois Governor Pat “Clueless” Quinn’s attempt to saddle Illinois residents with the nation’s strictest gun ban has been voted down by an over 2/3rds majority, 78-28, in the Illinois House after being defeated in the Senate last week.

The vote effectively restored the original language, which allows Illinois Firearm Identification Cardholders to mail order ammunition from retailers elsewhere in Illinois.

America’s favorite rifle is safe in Illinois for the time being from the nation’s least popular governor, our very own Governor “Clueless” Pat Quinn (25% approval rating) and his merry band of gun hating allies in the Illinois General Assembly.

Go to the link and read the rest of the story on who voted no, and more.
