Further Evidence That Criminals Do Not Purchase Firearms?
« on: February 22, 2017, 12:52:59 PM »
You may or may not recall article from a few years ago regarding the truth about background checks. http://blog.gunlink.info/2015/08/01/setting-the-record-straight-on-firearm-background-checks/

In the article, it is pointed that a survey of criminals in prison found that 8% of them obtained a firearm at a retail store and less 1% from a gun show. The vast majority obtained them on the black market or through theft.

Police in Roanoke, VA said they had 158 firearms reported stolen last year, which averages to 13 per month. http://www.wdbj7.com/content/news/Roanoke-police-investigated-record-number-of-firearm-thefts-in-2016-414287183.html

Police said they have been reaching out to local gun stores about safe and secure firearm storage.

If there was a trend for a firearm theft last year and we know that most criminals obtain their firearms illegally, are we in for an increase in violent crime this year?

A increase in violent crime will be because of light punishment for violent offenders and turning criminals out of jail due to 'over crowding' than it does with stolen guns.  he didn't do nothin, he was just turning his life around, he deserves a 2nd chance, blah blah blah.

were more guns actually stolen is it just on the news now?
