Winter Survival

Since the weather service now names winter storms (when did this start and what were A and B?) and Cleon is predicted to dump 18 inches of snow in some areas, what items do you deem necessary in the the event of a major power outage in the winter? Or being snowed in?

I'm stocking up on batteries tomorrow and we just bought some propane for our lantern and camp stove. I'm digging out all of my warm clothes just in case since we do not have a backup generator and we won't have an alternate heat source. We had an unfortunate incident a few years ago in that ice storm living in an apartment. We're mostly prepared.
