Title: Arkansas State and Local Legislation

This post will be for residents of Arkansas to share state and local legislation. Please indicate if the bill you're talking about is local or state.

SB 159 - will allow county court employees with a concealed carry permit to carry their weapon at work. http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2015/2015R/Bills/SB159.pdf

HB 1081 - would allow the service pistol of a deputy sheriff to be awarded to the deputy or spouse (assuming they can legally own a firarm) upon retirement or death.  http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/assembly/2015/2015R/Bills/HB1081.pdf

Here are some of the current bills being proposed in Arkansas this session:

HB1985 gives a path for some non violent felons to obtain their rights to possess firearms

SB126 creates a Second Amendment Appreciation weekend

HB1630 makes it a crime if a child gains possession of a firearm without proper supervision.

HB1888 establishes an enhanced training course that would allow certain concealed carry permit holders to carry in certain public buildings

HB1889 defines prohibited places for weapons.

SB743 would allow local governments with the majority of citizens voting on the issue to prohibit the open possession of handguns in public

SB 594 would allow licensed concealed carry holders to carry a firearm on public college campuses.

SB660 would allow concealed carry is more public places.
